A week left....

Well, we leave for LAX in exactly one week…and I’m getting pretty nervous!

Quite a bit has happened since I last posted on this blog. I received a ton of information on my host family and where I’ve been placed (Wakasa, Fukui prefecture), and so far I’m really happy about everything. I can’t wait to meet my family and the people at my school! I just can’t believe it’s so soon.

I’ve also been giving quite a bit of thought as to what clubs I’m going to do when I’m there…I’ve been thinking about Kendo (which is Japanese sword fighting!), and also Photography. Apparently as an exchange student, it’s important that I try all the different clubs to get a taste of everything that’s available, but I’m not sure I would be able to handle more than two clubs at the very most!

I’ll post a picture (courtesy of the Wakasa website, haha) of the general area that I’ll be staying in. It’s about seven hours from Tokyo, and very much a country town, which I’m pretty happy about because as much as I love the bustle of the city, I do like quiet, not-so-highly-populated places as well.
